Leslie’s Writing

Words are a constant wonder…

For Leslie, there’s magic in the creating, the honing, the polishing of words, and her favorite writing projects are book length manuscripts that give full scope to that process. Besides three published middle grade historical novels, she has multiple stories in the pipeline. Her current work in progress is about a race of little people who live underground and a princess with agoraphobia. More to come on that soon!

From writing conference speaker, literature festival presenter, and 2010 Missouri SCBWI Mentor to writing about writing or teaching at the 2021 Writing Workshop in Redding, CA, Leslie enjoys sharing what she’s gleaned on her writing journey. As she’s fond of saying, “We all start somewhere. It’s where we go from that that matters.”

As a writer, Leslie is versatile. Creative. Rooted in solid research and a passion for people. Her content writing covers a broad spectrum of topics and formats from grazing genetics in sheep to coffee farmers in Ethiopia and South America. With more than 800 stories, articles, and essays published in magazines, anthologies, trade publications, and website content, she’s still at it!

Here’s a sample of some of her work:
